Skip classification structureDetails
| Description | The Classification of Economic Activities, issue 2003 (WZ 2003), was developed under extensive participation of data users and data producers in administration, economy, research and society and provides a basis for a consistent classification of economic activities of enterprises, local units and other statistical units in all official statistics. It is based on the binding Statistical Classification of Economic Activities in the European Community (NACE Rev. 1.1) which itself is based on the International Standard Industrial Classification (ISIC Rev. 3.1) of the United Nations. The necessary approval of the European Commission concerning the structure of WZ 2003 is available.
WZ 2003 is generally used in official statistics from the beginning of 2003. Herewith it replaces the Classification of Economic Activities, issue 1993 (WZ 93), whose structure was updated just cautiously. |
